About Benno Fürmann

Born in 1972, Benno Fürmann studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. On the big screen, he has appeared in Doris Dörrie’s “Naked″, Christian Petzold’s “Wolfsburg″ and Christian Carion’s Oscar-nominated film “Merry Christmas″. He recently acted in the film adaptation of the Håkan Nesser book “Intrigo: Death of an Author″ alongside Sir Ben Kingsley. On television, Benno Fürmann can currently be seen in Tom Tykwer’s adaptation of “Babylon Berlin”, based on the novels by Volker Kutscher. Fürmann has won many honors, including the German Television Award and the Grimme Award. He is actively involved with a number of social causes: He was ambassador of the World AIDS Day campaign in 2006 and supports Verein Junge Helden, Amnesty International and the campaigning and advocacy organization ONE.
