About Donna Leon

Donna Leon was born in 1942 in New Jersey. She worked as a tour guide in Rome, as a copywriter in London and taught at universities in Iran, China and Saudi Arabia. Her Brunetti novels have made her famous worldwide. She has won many awards, including the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Strand Magazine (2019) and the “Gaudium Award” from Breukelein Institute (2021). Donna Leon lived in Italy for many years and now lives in Switzerland. She continues to visit Venice regularly.
