About Tobias Rüther
Born in 1973, Tobias Rüther is responsible for the literature pages of the arts and culture section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. His 2008 book “Helden” about David Bowie’s years in Berlin was followed in 2013 by “Männerfreundschaft”, a study of real-life and fictional best friends. In that work, Wolfgang Herrndorf’s “Tschick” played an important role. Last August, Rüther published the first biography of the author and painter (1965-2013): “Herrndorf” (2023) is based on previously unpublished documents from the subject’s estate as well as conversations with his family, friends and contemporaries.
